AmStat College Football Top 25: Week Nine

Just when we thought that this season's pretenders and contenders had been sorted out, week nine brought us a slew of unexpected results. Clemson was upended by a Georgia Tech team that came into the meeting on a two-game slide, Michigan State laid an egg against Nebraska on the road, and Kansas State was humbled by Oklahoma (OK, that actually didn't surprise anyone...but bare with me). We nearly saw Stanford lose their first game of the year (after an Andrew Luck pick-six no less), and we did see Wisconsin drop their second game in the row.I'm also still trying to figure out how the Texas Tech team that beat Oklahoma last week got drilled by Iowa State this week. Fortunately, after all the madness the BCS title picture is looking fairly clear, but the race for the other eight spots in the BCS is looking more wide open than it ever has. After nine weeks of football, does anyone realize that the outright Big Ten leader is one-loss Penn State? Anomalies like these are taking shape all around the country, which means the home stretch for this season could be one to remember. Here's the current standing of the college landscape according...just don't be surprised if it looks totally different next week.
